After Spain, another summer destination: Portugal (1959 Vieira, 1963 San Martinho do Porto, Nazare, Vieira…). This country, as Spain and Italy, nourished Jean Delpech’s insatiable curiosity and his greed for discoveries. Everything merited his attention, the spectacular big boats shaped like crescent moons, as well as the fishermen selling their catch at night on the beach. Everything passed through the filter of his sharp eye. The result was a new image, authentic, far from the touristic cliches.
